WELCOME

A New Mexico resident, Murphy is a full-blooded Navajo tribal member with land interests in the Navajo Nation. Murphy got interested in acting after watching his hero Will Sampson play deaf-mute Native American "Chief" Bromden, a supporting role in the Oscar-winning "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in 1975. Like Sampson, Murphy earned a film award at the 30th American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco for directing "Amerind: Our History." Murphy worked for BBC America as a PA/Electric Grip in the 2000s in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area. He became a BG actor in movies such as Sicario, Two Men in Town, and Ideal Home. Actors Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, and Paul Rudd are his favorite actors he got to rub elbows with. TV series Better Call Saul (S2) was when he was handpicked by executive producers Melissa Bernstein and Vince Gilligan.

Murphy will seek out speaking roles in New Mexico. When he isn't on set he is working to improve life in Indian Country by working for a Native non-profit that works directly with federally-recognized tribal nations and Indigenous individuals keeping traditions alive in agriculture, language preservation, resource protection, and land back issues.

Murphy is the son of Ernest and Dolly Murphy, both of which, were employed with the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs - Navajo Area. His mom retired from the Navajo Nation and Veteran's Administration and was a Korean War Veteran.
